The Need: In the Silicon Valley, the Internet is a preferred method of conducting business, communication, shopping, and education. The increasing interest of Santa Clara County residents required an online traffic school in line with the progressive Silicon Valley values. The project, the first and only of its kind in the world, is a joint project of the Institute for Business Performance and the Santa Clara County Superior Court. Prism was hired to complete the extensive backend programming for the web based application.

The solution: Working on the needs of the county residents, Prism went on to use PHP/MySQL to create a robust site which offered an online traffic safety course to internet users. The large scale application included varied features.
Prism created the entire backend of this e-commerce distance learning site, comprised of numerous databases within databases. This site has won two awards - a Communicator Award in the category of Distance Learning, and a TIM Award in the category of Training. You can see the site at:

Connect Information Center Kiosk and Website: Prism created two databases for this project as well, similar to the Employment Service Network Website. The kiosk won an award from the San Jose Film and Video Commission's Joey Awards in the category of Interactive Education/Training. Kiosk Programming and Web Development
Project: Garrett County Dept. of Social Services Kiosk
Client : CmassMedia
Garrett County Dept. of Social Services Kiosk: Prism created the backend for this amazing kiosk that allows low-income residents of Garrett County Maryland to self-screen themselves to see if they might qualify for one or more programs offered through the Dept. of Social Services. This is a ground-breaking project, and Prism did a terrific job with the extensive database work that was required, as each of the NINE different programs had DIFFERENT eligibility criteria, yet users only had to complete a single survey to see how many of the programs they might be qualified for. VERY complex! Unfortunately, this project is not available online, as the kiosk acts as its own server.

CD ROM presentation
Project: CD-ROM Spoof of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire"
Client : CmassMedia
CD-ROM Spoof of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" for the annual sales meeting of Brio Technology. This project isn't posted online, as the spoof was conducted "live" during the annual sales meeting. Prism programmed the visuals that played on a plasma screen while a Brio staffperson played the role of Regis Philbin and the "contestants" were called out from the audience. Prism did a perfect job mimicking the shows visuals, and the client loved the result.
